Making paddle boarding
Our team was built on two commonalities: The first was our love of SUP. The second was our desire to bring the joy of SUP to every watersport enthusiast, regardless of the size of their home, car, boat, or other mode of transportation or storage.
We spent several years prototyping alongside experts and owners of watersport equipment, from novice boarders to paddle-board racers and even Olympic kayaker and surfboard designer Corran Addison. The result of those efforts became the Easy Eddy board. Named in homage of the great Eddie Aikau, our three-piece paddle board combines the performance of hardboards with the convenience of inflatables—without any of the hassle.
A gastroenterologist by trade, Elliot discovered paddle boarding while on vacation with his friend, Ed, sailing in the British Virgin Islands. Bouncing between Massachusetts and Hawaii, Elliot and Ed also obtained their sailing licenses together. After years of frustration attempting to fit paddle boards onto boats, they decided to create Easy Eddy, later purchasing a roto-molding factory together to make their vision for a three-piece board come to life.
Ed’s been a plastic guy his entire career. His love of boating and being on the water naturally led to a love of paddle boarding as well. Living on the rocky Rhode Island coast, his family has gone through many fiberglass and inflatable boards. His goal in creating Easy Eddy was to solve the many difficulties paddle boarders deal with, and to follow his passion of making it easy for others to join the paddle boarding community.
MaryKate joined the Easy Eddy team in 2020 as the Brand Development and Marketing Manager, bringing business development, partnerships, marketing, and sales experience to the team.
Born and raised on the Rhode Island coast, she has always had a growing relationship with the ocean. Her passion in watersports started at a young age and ranges from surfing, kayaking, and wakeboarding to sailing and paddle boarding. MaryKate’s passion and decades-long experience in watersports has made working at Easy Eddy feel like second nature.
We keep it...
It’s the "easy" in Easy Eddy. From storage to assembly, our paddle boards are meticulously designed for maximum convenience. They even have a handy waterproof hatch for on-the-water storage.
We pledge to never harm the waters we paddle. Unlike other boards, Easy Eddy paddle boards are made of 10–15% reclaimed plastics and not PVC, which can leak harmful chemicals into the water.
Our love of SUP is where it all began. You can easily transport Easy Eddy paddle boards and snap them together in 60 seconds, so you can get to the fun of SUP faster.
